How to verify and claim your store's website

  1. Click Verify and claim your shop URL in Merchant Center in Google Merchant Center checklist.

  2. In Google Merchant Center, go to Business information / Website. Enter your "Website URL", and click Save.

     

  3. To verify the domain select "I have access to my server" box” > "Add an HTML Tag to my homepage" and copy meta tag.

     

  4. Then you need to edit your theme as you will have to place the meta tag that Google provides you in your theme.liquid file. Go to the theme code editing section in the Shopify admin panel of your web store. Online Store → Themes → Actions → Edit code

  5. Open the theme.liquid file in the Layout directory and paste copied meta tag:

    6. Go back to Google Merchant Center. Click Verify URL


    7. Then click Claim URL
