Generating a Google Maps API Key
What is a Google Maps API key?
A Google Maps API key is a personal code provided by Google to access Google Maps on your site. It’s required to enable delivery validation by a maximum radius in our app.
How do I get a Google Maps API key?
Getting a key is a simple process that doesn't require coding or any specific technical expertise. You just need to have an active Google account and a few minutes of your time.
Is it free?
Google offers a 90-day free trial period and a $200/month free quota. It’s about 30K maploads per month, so should be enough for most stores.
If you exceed that quota, your Google account will be billed automatically. Please refer to Google pricing for more details.
Step-by-step guide
Open the Google Maps Platform and click “Get started”.
Specify your country, select the “Terms of Service” checkbox, and click Agree and Continue.
Click the “Finish account setup” button to proceed.
Specify your country, select the “Terms of Service” checkbox and click Continue.
Add your business and billing details.
Copy the API Key, select both checkboxes, and click “Go to Google Maps Platform”.
Do NOT select the restriction, click “MAYBE LATER” instead.
Now, you can add the generated API key to the app Settings to enable delivery area validation.
